In this level, you’ll learn how R, RR, S, and SS sound in the middle of Portuguese words.
Some sounds are soft, some are strong, and yes, Portuguese likes to surprise people for fun.
Listen carefully, repeat the words, and train your ears. Small letters, big difference.
Quest 01:
In this quest, you’ll focus on R and RR in the middle of words.
A single R between two vowels usually has a soft sound, like in barata.
But RR, or R after a consonant, has a hard sound, like in carro and enriquecer.
Listen, repeat, and don’t let one tiny letter troll your pronunciation.
QUEST 02:
In this quest, you’ll repeat the R sounds you studied before.
First, train the soft R sound in simple syllables and words. Then, practice the hard RR sound in the same way.
Listen carefully, repeat as many times as you need, and let your mouth survive the challenge.
RA - RE - RI - RO - RU
BARATA - XERETA - DIÁRIO - DURO - URUBU
RRA - RRE - RRI - RRO - RRU
ERRADO - DERREDOR - TERRITÓRIO - FERRO - ARRUMADO

QUEST 04:
In this quest, you’ll learn the difference between S and SS in the middle of words.
A single S between two vowels usually sounds like Z, as in casa.
But SS, or S after a consonant, keeps the hard S sound, as in passo and condensado.
Listen, repeat, and train your ears — because one little letter loves creating chaos.
QUEST 05:
In this quest, you’ll repeat the S sounds in the middle of words.
Train the soft S sound, which sounds like Z, and then review the hard SS sound and the strong S after consonants.
If you had any doubts before, this is your chance to fix them before Portuguese laughs again.
