Ipiranga is one of São Paulo's most traditional neighborhoods and an important landmark in Brazilian history.

It was here, on September 7, 1822, that Brazil's Independence was proclaimed, making the neighborhood a symbol of the country's birth as an independent nation.

Today, Ipiranga blends history with everyday life. Its tree-lined streets, historic architecture, museums and public parks make it one of the city's most recognizable and culturally significant districts.
